Generally, seasonal change with weather can cause the ground to expand when cold and wet in the winter season, and contract and dry during hotter summer season, shifting your house’s foundation. Another cause could be the henges are pulling out of the frame due to loosening screws holding the hinges in place. Generally, these are simpler repairs.

 

Q: Why does my front door have hot or cold air coming in when closed?

 

A: Generally the cause is a lack of weatherstripping, or failed weatherstripping. Weatherstripping and weatherstripping gaskets will tend to dry out and begin the process of degrading and disintegrating over the course of seasons. As a result, they lose their elasticity and flexibility, and begin to shrink, compromising the seal, allowing air in as a result. This is a simple repair by replacing the weatherstripping.

 

Q: Why won’t my deadbolt latch?

Q: How long does a door repair take?

 

A: Depending on the problem, it could take 30 minutes to troubleshoot and fix a sticky door by tightening all the hinges or bending the hinges to conform to the door frame, to an hour or so troubleshooting hardware not latching properly, or installing new hardware.
